About Pro SUP Shop
Tucked away in the west parking lot of the Jamaica Bay Inn at Mother’s Beach in Marina del Rey, Pro SUP Shop is the only full service, dedicated stand up paddling shop in the marina. They have a reliable fleet of boards from Riviera, Surftech, Bark and Michael Dolsey alongside paddles from Quickblade, Riviera and Surftech. The shop is situated just off the beach and the sandy location provides a perfect spot for new paddlers seeking calm, flat water for their initial SUP experience. Marina del Rey is also a great place for advanced paddlers to hone their skills and work on technique or anyone interested in simply exploring the eclectic array of watercraft docked throughout the expansive marina.
The shop’s customer base includes everyone from the ages 7-70 and in addition to boards and paddles, Pro SUP Shop offers customers a selection of shirts, hats, leashes, fins, board bags and deck pads. Free water is available on site and customers may pick up a 15% discount card for a meal at the Jamaica Bay Inn’s patio restaurant.
The surrounding area in Marina del Rey and nearby Venice has many great places to visit within walking distance of the shop. And while Pro SUP Shop is located in the marina, they are easy walking distance from the ocean and the Venice Pier where paddlers will find many bars, restaurants, cafes, and shops, as well as opportunities to surf. Notable bars and restaurants in the area include The Whaler, which is a great bar with an upstairs patio to grab some drinks and food while watching the sunset. Hinano is a fun dive bar with famous hamburgers and Cabo Cantina has a great two-for-one happy hour special. If you are looking for a slower pace, try The Cow’s End Cafe for a fantastic place to pick up a sandwich or coffee.
Each month the shop and its core followers come together to host a Champion Paddle to support breast cancer awareness. They also have a regular sunset paddle tour through the marina during the summer on Wednesday and Friday evenings at 7 pm.
Pro SUP Shop offers group lessons each weekend at 9 am and 11 am, and private lessons any time when booked in advance.
Ample parking is available directly at the shop and in the surrounding area. Self parking at the Jamaica Bay Inn is $7 and public parking at nearby lots is available on an hourly basis.
