With a field of over 70 entries, there were numerous teams that included SCORA paddlers among their ranks! This year marked the first time unlimited canoes were recognized as an official division at Na Wahine O Ke Kai and several SCORA paddlers were in the crew that finished first in the new division.

NAC paddler Jojo Toeppner continued her legacy and has competed in Na Wahine O Ke Kai every year since its inception, including 10 first place titles (1986-1991, 1993-1996). Veteran paddler Julie Wolfe also made the crossing with the Pacific Aunties. This crew included a few other SCORA paddlers and they brought home a victory in the Masters division. There were several SCORA junior paddlers who made channel crossing this year. Three of them competed with Hawaiian Canoe Club, who finished 1st place in the Juniors division.
