Professional kiteboarder Sensi Graves knows a thing or two about designing functional bikinis for active water women. Her tagline is “bikinis for girls who rip” and her team of ambassadors can vouch for her stay-put styles.
The Globetrotter Collection is inspired by travel and through it Graves hopes to inspire wanderlust and encourage customers to go out and explore the world. The collection includes some of the best-selling styles as well as a few new arrivals: the Sofi top, the Alexa top for larger busts, and the Victoria top. In addition, a second one-piece has been added to the line, a full coverage surf suit, and two rashguards. All pieces are meant to be supportive and ideal for any and all conditions the ocean may throw your way.
Graves sent me the Colleen Reversible Bikini Top and the Kyla Reversible Bikini Bottom to test out. Can I just start by saying how much I love this print and the fact that it is reversible!? One side is an indigo tie-dye print and the other is a soft, pinkish-purple color. The top is super supportive and the strappy detail on the back gives it a nice feminine flare. It fits tight and securely stays in place, whether you’re in or out of the surf. The bottoms are cheeky-cut with three strings adding a little detail at the hip. The bottoms fit snug and stay nicely in place while paddling, but may budge a smidgen in larger waves. Overall, this suit is a win. It’s cute, it’s functional, and is definitely made with “girls who rip” in mind.
In addition to making rad suits, Graves is a big advocate for protecting our planet. In an effort to preserve our paddling playground, Graves uses recycled packaging, incorporates recycled fabrics into her suits, makes everything at home in the USA, and donates 1% of profits to environmental causes. So not only will your suit stay in place, it will help protect the planet as well.
Did it inspire wanderlust in me? Well, I just booked a ten-day trip to Costa Rica, so you do the math.
