Fully inflated Quiksilver belt pack PFD.
This belt pack PFD is a great, functional PFD for stand up paddling. It provides more flotation than some alternative products at lower price points and the zipper pocket and D ring are useful features for carrying small lightweight items such as keys, lip moisturizer and/or a small light.
The pack has a somewhat boxy shape and is not the most low profile PFD on the market, but is nevertheless comfortable and unobtrusive to wear. The addition of a whistle is a great feature, although you will have to first deploy the PFD in order to access it.
Always read the label on your PFD for a list of complete operating instructions. Rules and regulations governing the use of PFDs may vary from country to country. Always consult local regulations to verify compliance. Wearing a PFD while stand up paddling is not a substitute for knowing how to swim. Learn the local conditions and your own limitations before entering the water.
