Kelly’s Whitewater Park and the 2015 Payette River Games

Kelly’s Whitewater Park

Each year Kelly’s Whitewater Park hosts the renown Payette River Games – the world’s premier whitewater SUP racing event. Kelly’s Whitewater Park is situated along the Payette River in Cascade, Idaho – a picturesque rural town nestled in a mountain valley. Osprey soar overhead and the meadow is bespeckled with wildflowers as the fast-moving water rushes by in the crystal clear alpine water. Founded by Mark and Kristina Pickard on a swath of donated land, the park is named for Kristina’s sister, Kelly Brennan, who passed away in a tragic auto accident at the young age of 23 years old.

Each competitor at the Payette River Games receives a jersey with the Kelly’s Whitewater Park logo. The 33 represents the number Kelly wore in countless high school and collegiate athletic competitions. It symbolizes her competitive spirit, unwavering leadership and the compassion Kelly shared with teammates and competitors. In addition to the number you will see a shamrock representing the family’s Irish heritage. The shamrock’s heart shaped leaves also symbolize the geographic location of Kelly’s Whitewater Park in the heart of Idaho.
