Harbor Hoot – Dana Point, California

The third annual Harbor Hoot is a stand up paddling event founded by California’s stand up paddling (SUP) legend Anthony Vela. The former Los Angeles County Lifeguard brings decades of ocean experience to curate a SUP event for all ages and ability levels of SUP paddlers. The entire event takes place within the safe confines of scenic Dana Point Harbor and will almost certainly draw stand up paddlers from across the region. Register here.
Off da Couch – Newport Beach, California

Named in honor of former Newport Aquatics Center (NAC) coach Sam Couch, the Off da Couch event is open to all paddle craft and takes place at the renowned Newport Aquatics Center. There are multiple races throughout the day of varying distances. The event kicks off the Southern California “Winter Series” hosted by the various outrigger canoe clubs sprinkled throughout the region. Register via PaddleGuru.
San Diego Invitational – Mission Bay, San Diego, California

The annual autumn paddling event in San Diego remains virtual this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the raffle at this Southern California “Winter Series” event is open to anyone around the world (winners will be responsible for paying postage to deliver prizes) and the racing is open to all paddlecraft. For those who would like to paddle at a specific time, there will an “On The Water” meet up and start time for each course on Saturday, October 30th. Register via PaddleGuru.
Another Dam Race – Parker, Arizona

Paddle down the Colorado River below the Parker Dam! Another Dam Race features two races in 2021: 1) a short course of approximately six miles, and 2) a long course of approximately 10.5 miles.
