Like a lot of athletes, I’ve always been pretty conscientious about what I put into my body. I stick to a healthy diet and steer clear of refined sugars, dairy, and empty carbs. You are what you eat, after all. It was only recently that I discovered what I was putting on my body had just as big of an impact as what I was putting in it.
Traditional skincare products are laden with parabens, fragrances, and other chemicals. Grab any product out of your bathroom drawer, you likely won’t recognize most of the ingredients. When you put harmful ingredients on skin, the toxins get absorbed into your body and bloodstream, which could lead to health issues down the road. When I became aware of all this, I set out in search of a natural skincare line. That’s when I discovered OSEA.
OSEA is an ocean lover’s dream. The family-run company was founded twenty years ago with the intention of creating a natural skincare products that are free of toxic, synthetic ingredients. Instead, they use plant-based, vegan ingredients and package their products in recyclable glass bottles. Most of their products are made with bioavailable seaweed and are then infused with essential oils, creating a dreamy natural feel.
Like many dwellers of the sea, my skin is constantly dried out from Mother Ocean’s salty touch. To combat dry, scaly skin, OSEA sent me their “ocean lotion,” “ocean cleansing milk,” “undaria argan oil,” and “advanced protection cream” to try out.

Let me just start off by saying how much I love the packaging. All of the products came in cute, little glass bottles that I am already planing to reuse for my travels. I love that the products contain ingredients I recognize and feel light on my skin.
The “ocean lotion” is the perfect body lotion to lather on after a salty SUP session. It’s light, fragrance free, and feels great. The “advance protection cream” feels a bit thicker, but is the perfect anti-aging cream to apply to the face morning and night. The “ocean cleansing milk” is a hydrating face wash that perfectly removes makeup or any dirt that may build-up throughout the day. Lastly, the “undaria argan oil” is ultra-hydrating, not to mention calming. It’s infused with lavender and chamomile oil, so it’s a lovely oil to apply at the end of the day.
I only tried four products from OSEA’s wide line and was pleased with all of them. Their products felt good on my skin and I felt safe knowing they were made from all-natural ingredients (I secretly loved that they were made from seaweed). Their website is organized with concerns and categories, so you can easily shop for whatever skincare product is best suited to your needs.
