Buoy Wear: The Floating Hat Michael Chebatoris August 10, 2018 Accessories, Reviews A hat that floats! Headwear is an essential water sport accessory to protect your head from the sun if you’re going for a paddle or just out and around town. Buoy Wear is a colorful option for those paddlers who prefer a traditional trucker hat look. The young company has created a colorful range of fully waterproof floating hats and accessories sure to brighten up your time on the water. I tested the floating hat this spring standup paddling on lakes in the Colorado front-range. The hat has a solid yet flexible construction, this gives it a regular hat look and feel. I confirmed the hat indeed floats by tossing it on the water a few times as you can see from the picture; water beads right off the hat! The fabric of the hat is quick drying and antimicrobial. The back of the hat is classical mesh which provides breathability. The floating hat has an adjustable strap which is easily sized to fit your noggin. In Colorado, you just don’t do one sport, you want gear which is versatile to accommodate a range of activities . The hat also works great for hitting the trail and hiking a 14er or simply hanging out at the local beer garden! The floating hat comes in five color options: Black, Orange, Red, Grey and Camo.
