The RōM Pack offers versatility in a functional design

Tennessee-based RōM Outdoors was founded on the principle of always innovating to improve upon the existing status quo. Their designs are unique and created with the idea of empowering a user to adapt the product to their environment. “We believe ingenuity favors the prepared. Those always ready for adventure and discovery,” said RōM’s founder.

The RōM Pack employs a one of a kind 3-in-1 system combining a backpack, rain poncho and blanket. The pack is designed to be as versatile as possible and leaves it up to a user’s imagination on just how far they want to go with configuring the pack to their life’s activities.

Features include:

  • 3,000+ cubic inch capacity
  • Padded shoulder straps
  • Load balance straps
  • Web haul handle
  • Insulated poncho
  • Foldout blanket
  • Arno straps
  • Hidden zipper pocket
  • Removable saddle bags
  • Dual side mesh pockets
  • Fastening clips
  • DWR fabric
  • Molle straps and webbing

The pack comes with a drawstring pack which can be used to store the RōM Pack or as an inner bag inside the RōM Pack in its backpack configuration. The pack weighs 4.6 lbs, which is a tad on the heavy side compared with many ultra light packs on the market today. The RōM Pack easily counters any downside in weight with an extremely durable and rugged design. This pack can withstand abuse and heavy use. I found it works well when hiking into a rocky beach with my SUP when I want to pack in a few items and have a soft surface to rest my board on. The saddle bags and mesh pockets are more than adequate for storing leashes, fins, water bottles and a PFD. Best of all, the pack has plenty of external webbing and attachment points to secure additional gear so you can make the most of your adventure.
